Punk & Rock’n’Roll aus Worcester, UK

“If you’re not having fun, then what’s the point in working this hard?” is the motto Fights And Fires live by. Music is an art form designed to be shared and enjoyed with others, something the band have never lost sight of, whilst delivering, chaotic and passionate, Rock and Roll inspired hardcore shows. Since forming in 2008, in a small city called Worcester, UK, the band set out with an aim to tour as much they possibly could…

Not ashamed to wear their classic rock influences on their sleeves, such as Motorhead and Thin Lizzy, Fights And Fires have never tried to follow or bow to trends. Whilst mixing up the music they grew up on, with more contemporary hardcore, the band have now produced a brand new record with their influences at the forefront. To date, Fights And Fires have released two albums, an EP, a split record and a demo, through Blackstar Foundation and Lockjaw Records..

Having already racked up 25+ tours of mainland Europe, playing with pun heroes such as The Bouncing Souls, Boysetsfire, The Flatliners, Versus The World, IntoIt.OverIt and We Are The Ocean as well as Hardcore Heavyweights Every Time I Die, Heights, Heart In Hand, Hundredth and Tribute To Nothing, Fights and Fires are looking forward to even more fun, exciting and sweaty times.

Unlike most bands currently doing the rounds on the hardcore scene, Fights And Fires are self confessed geeks. Vocalist, Philip Cox, trained to be a professional wrestler, before falling victim to the tour bug. Guitarist, Ryan Price, is an unreserved roller coaster fanatic, having watched every single roller coaster video on YouTube. Drummer, Lee Jackson, is a hedgehog owning, lower league football lunatic, following his team all over the UK. Bassist, Philip Cook has built himself an impressive CV, taking lower league teams to European glory…on football manager, year after year.

With a love for Star Wars, professional wrestling and super heroes, Fights And Fires, offstage, look more at home in your local comic book store, than at a Punk rock show, but, come stage time, it all changes. It’s nice guys, playing

Punk ist tot im ältesten Dorf Deutschlands, munkelt man, doch alle Schwarzseher und Nostalgiker seien nun eines Besseren belehrt: Fernab jeglicher Zivilisation der alten Betonstadt, in den Ruinen des ehemaligen Hauptbahnhofs, im dunkelsten Underground, rumpelt es wieder gewaltig in den Kartons und manchmal kann man sogar dazu tanzen!

Wir heißen: The Guinness To Go. Wir machen: Crossover-Bahnhofspunk. Wir wollen: alles und noch viel mehr! Formiert aus pseudo-legendären Moselcombos jeglicher musikalischer Couleur (Haarstudio Bernd, A Roland for an Oliver, Felicity Died Laughing und Mildred Kemp) hat sich eine Gruppe ewig Unbelehrbarer der ewig währenden Mission verschrieben, den P.U.N.K. wieder auf die Fahnen und Häuserwände und ein Lächeln auf die Gesichter der Menschen zu zaubern. Zwischen Abfall, Bahnhofsgeistern, beerdigten Träumen, Fußbällen, Pizzaboten und ganz viel Zügen basteln wir aus so ziemlich allem musikalischen Brennstoff, der uns in die Quere kommt und in den Kram passt, unseren eigenen, hochexplosiven Molotowcocktail, der einmal quer durch sämtliche Spielarten des Punkrocks blutgrätscht.

Hier gucken Pascow nicht mal schüchtern bei den Mad Caddies ab, hier tragen Kraftklub noch anständige Klamotten, hier machen uns Ruhm und Radio nicht das erste Jupiter Jones-Album kaputt und hier schrecken 90er-Melodycore-Kapellen auch nicht vor französischem Avantgarde-Metal zurück! Klingt verwirrend? Egal, wir haben Bock drauf und das ist die Hauptsache! Hör rein und freu dich, denn: Die Hexe ist tot, es lebe der Punk! Ob im Guinness oder Dosenbier. Und go!
